Interior Minister, Rehman Malik Saturday claimed that security agencies foiled an attempt to attack the Parliament House during President’s address. Talking to journalists, he said that the plot was disclosed by a suspect who was arrested by security agencies in Islamabad. He said the terrorist belonged to Miran Shah, North Waziristan. Malik revealed that an official of the Foreign Ministry had also been arrested in this connection. About the ongoing violence in Karachi, the minister said political parties should play their role to curb the fresh turmoil in the city. Malik disclosed that target killers used to escape abroad after committing crime in the city adding that the government was doing every possible step to arrest these criminals. He said police officials who are showing efficiency during their job must be rewarded. Responding to a question, Malik said that only the Parliament would decide when to open NATO supplies for Afghanistan.
