SIALKOT - A group of visiting German journalists on Friday pledged to make an all-out effort to promote the soft image of Pakistan globally to remove misconceptions about the country.

The delegation included Miss Kerstin Nyst, Alexander W. Bauersfeld, Marcus Schwarz, Arnulf Stoffel, Ronny Rutiling, Verstin Nyst, Hilde Regetier and Stepan Schoche.

They made this assurance while talking to the exporters and journalists of Sialkot after an important meeting held at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. SCCI President Naeem Anwar Qureshi, Sialkot Press Club Senior Vice Chairman Abid Hussain Mehdi, CSDO Vice President Mir Farooq Myere, project manager Ejaz Ahmed, SCCI General Secretary Tariq Mehmood Malik and Deputy Director Public Relations Malik Ghulam Abbas Awan were also present.

They discussed in details the matters of mutual interest with the hosts. To a question, the Germany journalists said, “The world should see Pakistan with fresh eyes.” They said that the people of Pakistan are peace-loving and they want a durable peace in the world. They also hailed the unique export culture and socio-economic development carried out by by local business community on self-help basis.

The German journalists spent a busy day in Sialkot. They also visited several sports goods, leather goods and surgical instruments manufacturing leading industrial units amid tight security. They witnessed the international standard craftsmanship of Sialkot based artisans.
