LAHORE - Punjab government and World Wide Fund for Nature have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in overcoming environmental pollution.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and WWF Director Operation Anwar Naseem signed the document at a ceremony held here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the Punjab government was taking concrete steps to control environmental pollution in the interest of future generations.

He said that signing the MoU was a step in the right direction and Punjab government will extend all out cooperation for the success of this programme, to provide a healthy environment to the masses.

WWF’s DO Anwar Naseem said that the Earth Hour programme was successfully controlling environmental pollution and ensuring clean atmosphere in 1000 cities situated in 150 countries around the world.

CM Punjab and Mr Naseem also lit torches on this occasion to express their resolve to protect the planet’s environment.
