RAWALPINDI – All Pakistan Inter-Universities Qirat and Na’at competitions were held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) auditorium here on Friday.

Both the competitions were so inspirational and attention grabbing that not only the audience but also the judges at the end were in a dilemma as to who should be awarded the positions.

However the winners of the Qirat competition included Hafiz Muzaffar of Veterinary Sciences University Lahore as first, Muhammad Tayyab of Punjab University Lahore, second, and Hafiz Muhammad Nouman of University of Sind Jamshoro as the third position holder.

While in the Na’at competition, Zarmeen Yasmeen Veterinary Sciences University Lahore won the first prize, Kashif Iqbal of University of Agriculture Faisalabad got the second and Ali Abbas of University of Punjab received the third prize.

In solo performance, Abdullah Hassan of Punjab University, Lahore, got first prize, while, Ahmar Najeeb of Federal Urdu University, Islamabad and Mansoor Hameed of Agriculture University, Faisalabad     got second and third positions, respectively. On the occasion students of Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi presented dramas and grabbed the attention of the audience.

In Qirat and Na’at competitions Dr Azher Naeem, Director Students Affairs PRESTON University was the chief guest while in Solo Performance Dr. Nadeem Akhter Abbasi, Chairman Horticulture Department PMAS-AAUR was the chief guest and distributed prizes and shields among the winners of the competitions.

A big gathering of audience comprising distinguished faculty members and students were witnessed on the occasion. The audience not only boosted the confidence of the participants but also appreciated them on their marvellous performance.
