LAHORE – An Accountability court on Friday granted 15-days physical remand of Railways General Manager Saeed Akhtar, an accused of selling bulk of scarp on low rates, resultantly a big loss to Railway department.

On Friday, NAB authorities produced the accused and sought his physical remand to carry out further investigation.

The counsel of accused told the court that his client was implicated in a false case because the contract of scarp was announced by the ministry of railway; therefore, his client had nothing to do with this case. He contended the court that around four thousand ton scare was sold while the remaining around 21 thousand ton was in railway’s custody.
