TOBA TEK SINGH - A total of 5,881 policemen will perform security duty during polling for general elections scheduled for May 11, here in the district.

According to police sources here on Saturday, out of 1,004 polling stations to be set up for three National and 7 Provincial assemblies seats in the district, 227 polling stations had been declared as sensitive while 92 had been declared as most sensitive where special security arrangements will be made.

DSPs of the tehsils concerned will be In-charge of the security plan in their areas. More than 2,700 retired army and policemen have also been recruited for two days and this force had been termed as special security force. The sources said that these temporary recruited security men will be given salary for two days duty from the election commission's funds.
