LAHORE - PML-N Central Deputy Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal has urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo motu notice against former dictator Pervez Musharraf for the November 3 action against the judges.

Ahsan told media people on Saturday that PML-N never withdrew its demand for action against Musharraf who was responsible for taking the country to the verge of disaster. Ahsan also lashed out at those who criticised the PML-N leadership for maintaining silence after the return of the former dictator who toppled the Nawaz Sharif government in October 1999 and framed the hijacking jacking case him.

The PML-N leader urged the Supreme Court to take action against Musharraf for the November 3, 2007 PCO and for declaring emergency as the court has proceeded against corrupt elements.

Ahsan said his party always took a solid stance against Musharraf who was guilty of subversion of the Constitution, assault on democracy and unconstitutional and illegal actions. He said Pervez Musharraf was also facing cases in the court of law and it was their demand that he should be punished for the said crimes. He said his party had never appreciated any unconstitutional action by anyone and PML-N’s stance on Musharraf’s acts was not different. He said Pervez Musharraf committed offence against the nation and was responsible for the crises which the country was facing today, so he must be taken to task, he concluded.
