LAHORE – The PML-N workers on Saturday staged a forceful protest outside the Model Town Secretariat of the party, against ignoring them for awarding party ticket despite promise.

They also staged a sit-in while an old worker demonstrated by climbing an electricity pole and tried to touch the live cable but failed.

The enraged workers also stopped the vehicles from entering into the vicinity of the Secretariat while they also surrounded the car of Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, Mushahiddullah Khan and Rana Tanvir Hussain.

The workers chanted slogans against their ignorance at the time of selecting candidates for the elections when previously they were promised tickets on account of their untiring services during dengue epidemics and other hard occasions on the Punjab government and the party.

They deplored that turncoats have been given preference while their sacrifices and resolution in troubled time on the party, have been ignored.

When the news of public resentment reached the leadership, a committee headed by Rana Ranvir was sent out to negotiate but was of no avail.  Another worker mounted the pole to bring the other down, but his himself begun to raise the slogans along with the already hung up worker.

They both came down after requests and pleadings by the others and the drama came to an end.
