LAHORE – Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said that  though his party struggled a lot for restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), it would fix on the forthcoming general election solo.

Talking to the media after inspecting the arrangements for the JUI-F’s ‘Islam Zinda Bad Conference’ to be held on Sunday (today) at Minar-e-Pakistan, Fazl said that all political and religious parties were engaged in negotiation on electoral alliances and the situation would be clear some days.

He said that the possibility of talks with PML-N regarding seat adjustment could not be ruled out so far. He said that the public meeting was not a power show to pressurize PML-N for seat adjustment. The JUI-F chief said that although Pervez Musharraf was a famous name but it was history of Pakistan that no one of Generals could succeed in politics after retirement.  Fazl hoped that today’s public would be unmatchable wherein people from all four provinces would participate. He said that the nation was looking towards JUI-F as they thought that it was the only party to pull the country out of crises. “We are real preachers of Islam, we are playing our role according to Quran and Sunna,” he said. To a quarry about contesting election of Mussarat Shaheen against him and Imran Khan, Maulana Fazl said that no one could bar anyone in electoral process however some people do this only to get fame.
