QUETTA - Three power pylons of 220-KV each were blown up in Sibi district of Balochistan on Saturday, while some 60 kilometers away a landmine blast wounded three persons fatally.

Officials said unidentified miscreants had planted explosive devices on three power pylons in Bakhtiarabad area that exploded with a huge bang, damaging the poles and suspending electricity supply to different areas. After the incident, personnel of law-enforcement agencies rushed and cordoned off the area. Sources said repair work on the damaged poles was being carried out after security clearance. Official sources said the security personnel also defused the explosives planted on three other power pylons in the same area. A case has been registered and investigation is in an advanced stage.

Meanwhile, three people were critically injured when the vehicle they were travelling by rolled onto a landmine some 60 kilometers away from Sibi near Shoran Road. The injured were shifted to a hospital, but their identities could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.

Separately, a ferrari commander, Mian Khan, has surrendered before the Sui commandant along with his six companions and taken the oath that he would not become part of anti-state activities and cooperate with the government.
