VEHARI/BAHAWALPUR - Having been denied PML-N tickets, two former MPAs from here have announced to contest elections as independent candidates

Former MPA Naeem Khan Bhabha will contest an election as independent candidate in collaboration with Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry from PP-237 after not having ticket from PML-N while Haji Zulfiqar Ali said that different parties have contacted him and asked him to join them.

Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry has returned the ticket of PML-Q and announced to contest as an independent candidate form NA-169.Tahir Iqbal is in touch with Rana Adnan and Rana Tahir Mehmood who is supported by Rajpot and Gujjar families in PP-236. However, Mian Saqib Khurshid is a strong candidate of PML-N from PP-236. PP-236, PP-237 is included in NA-169. He is two times winner from PP-236.

For the first time, he was elected on the ticket of PML-N and secondly from PML-Q's after some disputes with PML-N. Mian Saqib Khursheed, ex-MPA, seems to be a strong candidate in PP-236. Naeem Khan Bhabha, who was elected as MPA, has been refused a ticket after some disputes with Madam Tehmina Daultna.

Likewise, Haji Zulfiqar Ali said that different parties have contacted him and asked him to join them. In five year's tenure, he claimed, he carried out record developmental works and the opponents were busy making propagandas against him. The disappointed candidate of PML-N ticket for PP-271 Bahawalpur made the announcement in a meeting with the people of his area.

He said that he did record developmental work in the five-year tenure and had close relation with the people of the area due to which the people loved him and this affection was his asset. He said that the party leadership without any proper reason refused him to give ticket which is cruelty. He said that he has been offered by several parties to join them but he will not accept any offer without consulting with the people of his area.

He said that he has not yet submitted his papers to the Election Commission but affection of the people is forcing him to consider it. Participants of the meeting chanted slogans in favour of him and demanded that the PML-N should issue a ticket to Haji Zulfiqar Ali.
