LAHORE Peacekeeping force of Islamic countries should be deployed in Afghanistan for peace and decisions about Pakistan should be taken in the country and not in Dubai or Saudi Arabia, proposed former foreign minister Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali. He made these proposals while addressing a seminar titled Pak-US relations and future of Afghanistan on Sunday. He further proposed that a conference of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Afghanistan representatives should be held for ensuring peace in Afghanistan. He said war of Afghanistan should be fought in her own territory and not in Pakistan. He said, There is a paradigm shift in American policy for Afghanistan and now they are ready to have dialogues with all fighting groups, which are in their own national interest. Aseff stressed the need for thinking for the future of Pakistan instead of repenting on the past, otherwise our national organisations like Railways, PIA and Steel Mills would become bankrupt. The former foreign minister claimed, Pakistan is going through a persecution complex and Pakistanis are feeling that they are surrounded by enemies like Americans, Indians and Israelis, as the people see what is on the surface not the depth. Prominent among the guest include Qayyum Nizami, Jameel Gishkori and Dr Muhammad Sadiq. Two prisoners die in Kot Lakhpat jail: Two prisoners died mysteriously at Kot Lakhpat Jail whereas some six people including a woman suffered multiple injuries in various parts of the City on Sunday. One Abbad Ali, a resident of Faisalabad, was imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail since 2009 in connection with killing a person in Sheikhupura. He was awarded death sentence. Jail authorities said that Ali was suffering from a critical disease for the last four days and was admitted to a nearby hospital where he died on Sunday. Earlier, an alleged robber 25-year-old Kashif alias Kashi of Pindi Rajputan, Liaqatabad, was imprisoned aforesaid jail a few months back. He, however, was suffering form a serious disease in the jail. The authorities also shifted him to the Emergency Ward of the Jinnah Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Later, the bodies of the deceased were shifted to the City morgue for autopsy. Further investigations are underway. Police investigators said that a group led by Javed, Hanif and Irfan had been running a grudge with their rival party comprised Aqeel and Muhammad Ali over property dispute since long in Hadyara police area. On Sunday, they observed a scuffle and later opened indiscriminate fires on each other resultantly Hanif, Javed, Irfan, Aqeel and Muhammad Ali suffered multiple injuries. They were rushed to the General Hospital where they were told stable till filing of this report. Meanwhile, police said a woman Nazeeran Bibi kicked her daughter-in-law from upstairs over family issue in Gowalmandi police area. The victim girl identified as Robina Bibi was shifted to a nearby hospital where her condition was told out of danger. Earlier, a 30-year-old Gul Khan sustained multiple burn injuries and was rushed to the Burn Unit of the Mayo Hospital where his condition was told critical.
