KARACHI - Banned religious outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistans District Malir president was gunned down in a spate of target killing while his companion was injured and was admitted to hospital with critical injuries. SSP District Malirs president Jabbar Qureshi along with a local leader of the SSP District Korangi, Imdadullah was on the way to their homes at Korangi Crossing. Two armed culprits came and opened indiscriminate firing on them. Qureshi died on the spot while Imdadullah was wounded. Police officials termed the incident as target killing and said that it seemed that the incident took place on sectarian basis. The victims were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat also strongly condemned the incident and said that at least nine of SSP men have been killed in recent days. The law enforcement agencies should bring the culprits to task. Meanwhile, a prime witness of suicide attack on Muttahida Majilis-e-Amal leader Allama Hassan Turabis, was gunned down in a target killing incident on Sunday. Deceased Qasim Ali was shot dead near Malir City in Saudabad Police precincts. He was shot dead by unidentified armed culprits but police failed to get any evidence against the culprits. He was later taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he succumbed to injuries. Reports say that deceased was a prosecution witness in the case of suicide attack at Turabi.
